Dreaded

I'm not interested in posting a pic of my pregnant belly. It's my third pregnancy. I just want it over with. But at the urging of some who wanted a pregnancy photo, here you go. I'm in the 34th week. Got 6 more to go...hopefully less.

When I look at myself preggo, I see a lot of bumps and lumps. Some bigger than others. I wish I were wired differently. Oh well.

A final outing

We went to Zion (yes it seems like we always go there) but we can't help it. We love going hiking. The kids aren't as fond of hiking, but if there is a cool destination at the end, then they can get excited. We went on a hike to different levels of pools, so the boys eagerly ran wanting to see just what emerald pools looked like. (normal water pools if you really want to know)

We like to go in wintertime since the crowds are smaller, the temps are significantly cooler, and we don't have to ride the shuttle. Downside is that it can be a little muddy and there is ice up in certain parts.

We had this fun outing, and now I am suddenly on bedrest. At 31 weeks, I started getting lots and lots of contractions whenever i was up. They were not consistant, but worrysome since they came quickly and uncomfortably. I thought I felt more pressure down below and felt like I was opening up. I worried I was gearing up for early labor so I got checked out. Luckily, the baby was not trying to come yet and things appear to be ok. But they dont like the many contractions so I was told to lay down a lot.

I've been "listening" to my body and decided that being down has felt best. It seems like my body has abandoned me to fight for the baby and I'm left with nothing. I can't do much at all, there just isn't much strength. I get several contractions when i'm up for half an hour, and they go away when I lie down. So I am lying down since I feel particularly fond of keeping this baby cooking for several more weeks if I can help it. I don't have a NICU in my town and would have to travel 50 miles to the nearest one.

Can I just say that is has been 11 days of being down and I am going batty. Lying around makes you feel more tired. Watch some tv, feel tired. Read some books, it fatigues you. I'm tired of being tired from just being down. But I gotta do what I gotta do. I should take up crotcheing (don't know how to spell it) or something to do with my hands. I had some darling baby things I was going to attempt to do like making a car seat cover and maybe a nursing cover, but I can't physically do any of that at the moment. That makes me sad. I am in nesting phase. I want to organize. I want to create things. The babies room has a crib and an empty new dresser that needs filling. I want to be at the store, getting those things I need...and want. Yes, my husband can take care of all this, but I want to be the one doing it. And I feel bad for that poor dude. He has taken on all the jobs I normally do and he is exhausted. (Shows him I'm not a lazy housewife :) But I'm thankful for him taking on the role of both parents when I can't be much of one.
